| The length of the Drau cycle path is about 366 km from the start in Dobbiaco to the finish in Maribor. Divided up into sections, stage one (Dobbiaco to Lienz) is around 46 km long, the second (Lienz to Spittal) about 75 km, the third (Spittal to Villach) about 38 km, the fourth (Villach to Völkermarkt) about 89 km and the final stage five (Völkermarkt to Maribor) about 117 km. |
The route conditions along the Drau cycle path have greatly improved in recent years. The Drau bike trail mostly runs along the riverbank on paved paths, but sometimes also uses side roads with little traffic.
The Drau cycle path from Dobbiaco to Lavamünd is also ideal for children, as the route mostly runs on traffic-free trails or little-used side roads and has hardly any hills.
