Villiers High School is in Southall, West London. It has about 1300 students and this year will increase in size as it introduces a new sixth form.
Villiers is a school with enormous strengths. Students and teachers alike enjoy lessons and there is a positive and hardworking atmosphere.
At Villiers, staff, students and parents all have high expectations of each other. Our goal is that all students become well-informed and highly skilled learners, achieving excellence and leading fulfilling and exciting lives.
Creating the right atmosphere for learning is fundamental to our school ethos. It is important that students are happy and that they enjoy school. We have introduced a learning to learn curriculum so that students are taught how to learn as an explicit part of their lessons in all their subjects across the school. Our aim is that the students have the skills and attitudes of expert learners so they get the most out of their time at school and later in life.
We have a huge commitment to ensuring the best quality teaching in all subjects in all classrooms across the school. Teachers work with their colleagues, planning together, sharing good ideas for lessons and teaching each other new skills. Students play a very important role in providing teachers with constructive feedback on teaching through our extensive student voice programme.
